A Partridge soft hackle hares ear is a timeless pattern that will catch fish in any number of variations. While it lacks some of the movement of more modern cdc flies I feel it more than makes up for it in the natural mottling/ variegated coloration.
This particular fly is easily one of my favorite nymph patterns it excels on pressured fish in clear water scenarios, but it’s buggier silhouette helps it stand out surprisingly well even in stained water.
