This has by far been my favorite dry fly addition to date!
This pattern was developed to achieve high buoyancy(supporting a 4mm tungsten bead) in a very generic/ natural package mimicking all varieties of 'larger' insects (hoppers/ terrestrials, stoneflies, caddis).
The short extended body of wound up cdc, a body of cdc fibers (mixed with various flashes), a double sighter, and doubled over foam body make this thing perfect for extended low maintenance floatation!
The 2 tone sighter–admittedly done mostly to fit the predetermined name–allows for increased visibility in various lighting conditions.
Lastly, the "duo" variation sports a rear loop of 12# fluorocarbon (doubled over and securely tied in) to allow for a barbless friendly in-line dry dropper rig similar to that of tying off the bend of a (barbed) dry.
